Josephine County Public Health opens COVID-19 vaccination call center

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — Josephine County Public Health this week opened a COVID-19 call center to help residents schedule vaccine appointments and provide general information about both the virus and the respiratory disease it causes.

Residents can call (541) 916-7030 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to speak to an operator in English or Spanish. The call center can directly schedule vaccination appointments for residents at one of 12 local providers using an online form. That same form can be accessed and used by the public at

Operated by FCR, an Oregon-based call center management company, the Josephine County COVID-19 call center will stay active until every person in Josephine County that wants a vaccine has been given a reasonable amount of time to schedule one.

Many Oregonians are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The most recent group to become eligible — Phase 1B, Group 6 — includes adults 45-64 with one or more underlying health condition with increased risk; migrant and seasonal farm workers; seafood and agricultural workers; food processing workers; and more.

On April 5, frontline workers, individuals living in multigenerational households and Oregonians age 16-44 with one or more underlying health condition with increased risk will be eligible. See for a complete list and more details.

By May 1, every Oregonian age 16 and older will be eligible for the vaccine.

Three vaccines are currently available in Josephine County from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. At this time, residents are not able to request a specific manufacturer when scheduling an appointment.

This week, Josephine County Public Health will have distributed more than 25,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to community providers for administration. In Oregon, more than 1,116,000 residents have been vaccinated.
